Niagara County AIDS Task Force Observes World AIDS Day 2011
|
Continuing a tradition which began in 1994, the Niagara County AIDS Task Force observed World AIDS Day on December 1, 2011 at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center. On December 1st every year, the world comes together to commemorate World AIDS Day. World AIDS Day was introduced in 1988 by the World Health Organization. This was the first time that attention around the world was focused for one day in the year on AIDS. It provides the opportunity to increase awareness of the seriousness of the pandemic. This year’s theme was “Facing the HIV Crisis in the Black Community.” Follow this link to see Lorenzo William's Statement on World AIDS Day in Western New York. |
